Both teams were encouragingly larger and so were the results at our 2nd match in 3 days at E&E's homely Ewell Court venue.Sasha's womens opposition is mostly E&E but they were comfortably seen off, with wins for Dominique,Emily,Danielle,Sarah H.,Sasha & the 4x1 squad.Scores-K&P 47,E&E 23,Walton 11 & BA 7 with K&P in the lead with 14/151 from E&E 13/104 & Walton 9/50 etc. The men won for the first time this session thanks particularly to wins from Victor Nwagbara,Steve Cotton(2),Mike Maranzano & the 4x200 gents but the U20s - Craig Price, sharpening his speed with n/s 100&200 wins/Michael Huntley out for the first time this summer/Humphrey W,as ever,in multi-event mode - showed why the prospects for this winter's Surrey CC League, amongst other things, are good.Scores - R&T 15.5/142,K&P 13.5/130,BA 9.5/108,BoE 9.5/99 etc.

Only a couple of handfuls made the trip to Handy Cross and, despite several wins and hard work from those who did take the trouble to travel,we were well adrift of the other clubs from the off - in short, the day was a near-disaster. The opposing squads did not seem to be suffering from the 'reluctant-to-travel' malaise afflicting our youngsters. Only two U17s were there - Matthew Field, fresh from a splendid BAL debut the day before, and Jenny Davies, who won twice and improved her DT to 24.60.At U15 level,Josh Diffley showed good form with wins at 100/200/LJ(12.5/25.1/5.44)and other A string successes came from Tom Stottor(400 57.7/DT 21.30),Tim Sagar(800 2.16.8),our only!!! relay team, the Boys 4x100(52.4),Mary Iheke(200-a marked improvement to 27.2) & Harriet Lester(HJ/75H) with Roseanne Mackay taking 2 B strings in good times. Our only U13 success came from Aurelien Zonzolo, who won the SP at 6.52. A mere 18 athletes competed compared with 55 at the first match, which,in itself, was short of the maximum! Very disappointing indeed. Scores:Wycombe 395,Brighton 382.5,Bracknell 357 & K&P 131.5.
