Around a 100 people attended this year's AGM at Kingsmeadow. It was pleasing to see so many people, especially a lot of our younger members. Nearly 40 trophies were presented to the 2016 winners by our President, David Hillyer. In addition AAA Standardbadges and the Young Athletes Championship medals were handed out.

The meeting was led by our Chairman, Les Hatton. As well as the formal topics on the agenda, we were treated to a talk by Toby Gold, our Paralympic T33 Silver medalist from the Rio Games. Toby spoke about his experiences in Brazil as well as his career to date. He then took several questions from those present. Everyone felt that this was a really interesting talk and praised Toby for his contribution.

When the formal Agenda was completed we were able to enjoy a fantastic meal prepared by Camilla Thrush. Given that when she arrived at the venue to find that the cooking facilities were not working, Camilla's efforts (including arranging for a portable cooker at short notice) were amazing.

After the meal there was a raffle with a plethora of prizes. Nearly everyone seemed to win a prize and, at the completion of the evening there seemed to be a general view that it had been a successful event.

Thanks must be given to all those who volunteered to assist with the AGM and the meal and also those who donated prizes. The effort put into the event made it really enjoyable for many people and brought a lot of our members together to enable them to meet others they would not normally come into contact with, which in itself made this a worthwhile evening.
