Late September news -
26th - East Grinstead AC rebranded their 10K as the "Andy Ripley Memorial Race" - characteristically,EGAC were yet another organisation which Andy enthusiastically supported. Mike Maranzano made a late decision to race as part of his rehab,and took 3rd place in 38.00.
26th - Run To The Beat Half Marathon,London - Peter Wilkins,also on rehab,also took a late decision to run here,finishing 164th in 88.56.
2nd - BP/RD parkruns - Virtual ever-presents,Philip Bearmans Snr(22nd - 18.45) and Jnr(37th - 19.05) were our reps in Bushy Park,with Maureen Chitty at Roundshaw Down(76th - 32.38).
9th - BP/RD parkruns - Philip Bearman the elder placed 41st(19.59),with the younger out of action,whilst Cashel Riordan ran 27.16 in 380th;over at Roundshaw Downs,Maureen Chitty with 31.45 was 68th.
9th - RP parkrun - Sophia Free,in her 1st run,was 85th(25.31),whilst Olivia Siviter produced a PB with 28.01(118th).
16th - BPTT - 36th Philip Bearman(Snr) 19.40;199th Natalie Sacre 23.48;348th Cashel Riordan 26.48.
Saturday 16th October - Fantastic news! K&P's Women's Vets WV45 cross country team achieved a very unexpected but delightful 3rd place medal position in the Surrey Veterans Cross Country Champs (6K) in Richmond Park on Saturday afternoon. The team comprised of Nicky Atkins 28.12, Susanne Dietrich 28.38 both WV45, plus Nicki Murphy 30.03 and Dina Francis 32.00 both WV50, who were able to run in the WV45 age group to complete the team. 17th - Cabbage Patch 10 Miles,Twickenham - A fine run from U20 George Corcoran saw him claim 81st(59.50) in a field of almost 1600.
17th - Wimbledon Audi 10k - Though in his winter Thames H&H colours,Andy Robinson showed very good form,taking 2nd overall in 34.52.
20th - London Colleges League - Richard Mathie(Imperial) was 30th in the first race of the winter at Parly Hill(28.46),having earlier in the month taken 4th in the ULAC Annual Beer Mile! 2nd claimer,Sean Renfer(College of Law) was 18th.
23rd - Roundshaw Downs parkrun - Maureen Chitty 45th 32.20.
23rd - BP parkrun - Phil Bearman(S) 15th 18.52/PB(J) 61st 20.34/Natalie Sacre 230th 24.20/Cashel Riordan 390th 27.33 before careering across to the Bank for the semi-final!!!
24th - BUPA Great South Run(10M),Portsmouth - Caroline Jeffcote,under Nicky Atkins' tutelage,completed the GSR in 1h.49.20(4155W).
30th - Richmond Park parkrun - George Corcoran duly won in 17.50,with Bob McDonough debuting in 91st at 23.10.
30th - BP parkrun - Back to action,Philip B Jnr ran into 34th(29.13),ahead of father(37th in 19.15) and Natalie Sacre 282nd(24.51).
