Stalwart of Surrey AC,Ray Goodbody, has died at the age of 89.
Ray Goodbody was AAA Junior Mile Champion in 1939,setting a Championship Best of 4.25.0.
Subsequent to WW2,he was a long-time official and volunteer with the Club, culminating in a period as President.
He was a contemporary of PW " Jimmy' Green, who founded Athletics Weekly, and also of our present Past-President and still active official,Doris Dean. Doris succeeded Ray's father, known affectionately as "Pop',as General Secretary of SAC.
Our thanks to Eric Thompson, another longtime SAC volunteer/stalwart,for the notification in AW.
