A touch of bravery from Nicky Atkins!
Yesterday I did the "Hell Down South" and I have the tee-shirt and a cold to prove it.
This was absolute madness! Wading neck deep in freezing muddy water! But when I entered the race in the summer months how was I supposed to know that it was going to be the coldest November for 17 years!
The actual course wasn’t too bad and was quite frustrating as bottle necks kept forming with people walking up any slight incline; I was also running at an easy pace and still passing loads of people!
I could have run in the South of Thames and have had a better work out and stayed dry! As you can gather I wasn’t too impressed but at least I can now tick the box.
Still waiting for the results: Gun time 1.49, my time 1.46. Distance was between 11 to 12 miles.
