A brisk day in the Park - words from Matt.
Report
Yesterday saw the Club 9 mile open champs at a windy, but quite dry and clear, Richmond Park.
It was a great turnout, 29 all in all, notable for a strong contingent of Milocarian runners. There were some very impressive runs on the day, particularly from Thames Hare and Hounds who fielded five sub 50 minute runners.
First in for K&P was Andy Arbour who, despite suffering with a chest infection, still managed to retain the JC Brewer trophy finishing in a decent time of 52:58. Well done. Next up was Nicky Atkins, who took the silver medal in another impressive run. Bob McDonough picked up bronze, completing a mammoth day of flagging the course in the morning and then the running 9 miles! Geoff Reed completed the K&P line up with another useful performance.
My thanks to everyone who attended, and who marshalled, officiated and flagged on the day, much appreciated.
Next up, the all important closing Surrey League match of the season, 12th Feb, 3pm start at Richmond Park. Let's try and finish with a turnout to rival our first League match!
