Dominique opened her 2011 Multis season with a very useful 5566pts Heptathlon in Desenzano over the weekend of May 7th/8th,just 105 pts shy of her best.
Whilst PBs over 800 in 2.30.24 and LJ with 6.51(a club record, albeit with a +3.6 wind) were very welcome, perhaps the best outcome from Italy for Dominique would be the realisation that 5800pts is on the cards.
Marks of 1.69(HJ),12.27(SP) and 26.64(JT),some way below her current bests, should give her and coach,Julie Hollman, much confidence that a significant advance is a distinct possibility.
As well as the assumption from LJ that 2nd day conditions were not ideal,Dominique is learning to throw the javelin left-handed(Jessica Ennis changed similarly for her LJ),and here again there must be points waiting to be gathered.
She finished 9th overall,2nd of the British quartet. Full results on TOPS and TPOT.
