Six wins out of the 7 events we contested enabled the Ladies to stay on top of their competition and we lead by 3 League points at the halfway stage, ahead of Walton and Epsom & Ewell.
Best performance came from Molly Renfer over 800 where she took good advantage of a helpful pace from the men and clocked a season's best of 2.10.1,looking strong over the last 100. Lana Whatley was a double winner with a fluent success over 100H(16.0) and at 400.Our other winners were Claire McLeish(100),Odette McHenry(HT) and the 4 x 200 squad.
The Mens match was reasonably populated, both in the match and with NS and guests. Humphrey covered 5 events inc 3 of 4 in the field, winning the TJ and offering a viable alternative to the BAL TM in the Highs. Craig Price had a training session over 800/1500 winning both comfortably and was matched by a much sharper-looking Tom Butcher over 100/200 where he won easily in 11.1/23.2. Adam Bellis took the 400 in 51.9 and the 4 x 200 squad won with something to spare. Ronnie Taylor ran his best of 2011 at 3000(9.35.8),though Chris Bundhun ran the scoring, showing track form after useful efforts recently on the road in Ranelagh's colours in the Richmond Half-Marathon and the BUPA London 10k.
After 3/6,we have won all 3 fixtures, narrowly each time from St Marys Richmond, for a cumulative lead of 15/139 to their 12/121.Walton are 3rd. Next venture is to SMR HQ at Twickenham on June 15th. Given only 9 of the 29 men who have turned out in this year's Rosenheims have done more than just the one match,we are looking for fourth full shift, please! Oh,and a few more ladies,s'il vous plait, madamoiselles!
VAC shared this match - Over 100/200,Mike May 14.1/28.9 headed Chuck Isetts 14.5/30.4 and Joan Trimble 14.7/31.7.
