WOMEN - Going into the final match,Sasha Gordon's team held a slight lead in the Table, despite a large hiccough at the earlier Twickenham fixture, and they duly saw off the opposition to ensure the Silvo will be necessary again until next summer.

Lana Whatley was rewarded for a consistent season, prior to her departure to the Antipodes for a couple of years to complete a Masters Degree, with a PB over 400 Hurdles(66.9)as well as taking the 400 flat(62.6);she was also part of the winning 4 x 200 squad;TM Sasha led by example in winning the Javelin, and Clare Nelson,Liz Richardson,Izzy Hatton,Nicky Atkins & Claire McLeish completed the scoring team.

Match scores - K&P 40,E&E 26,SMR 22,Walton 15 and Final Placings - K&P(Champions) 26/206,Walton 21/129,E&E 19/106,SMR 18/115.

Men - Humphrey's persuasion and enthusiasm produced the strongest Men's Rosenheim team in a long while and they duly walloped the other clubs. This was the 14th consecutive Regular Season match win since H. took over and the only blemish was missing a complete whitewash of the 60 points maximum - by a half point. Still, retains the adrenalin until 2012,dont it! Now for the Final on August 10th,Kingsmeadow's turn again,by rotation with Tooting.

All the King's Men - 100 Justin Green 11.2/200 Victor Nwagbara 22.8/400 Chris Hall 50.6/800 Jonathan Darby 2.02.4/1500 Craig Price 4.13.5/3000 Gordon Pearce 9.01.9/400H Richard Holt 58.9/HJ Humphrey Waddington 1.70/LJ David Cook 6.85/SP Nick Owen 14.39/JT Chris Dack 48.99/4x200 Victor,David,Jordan Smith-Bent,Justin.

There were other useful performances amongst the supporting NS cast including Tom Parry's 58.2 over 400H to further restore his confidence.

Match Scores - K&P 59.5,BA 35,SMR 26.5,Walton 24,E&E 23 - and Final Placings - K&P(Champions)30/291.5,SMR 23/237.5,Walton 14.5/176,BA 14/148,E&E 8,5/118.

The first three go forward to the Final at Kingsmeadow on August 10th,along with the first three in the Eastern Division - the remaining two Finals slots are subject to comparison and relative strengths, given there are 6 teams in the East and only 5 in the West

Race of the Evening

The most intriguing, and perhaps most enjoyable, race was the YA Invitation 800 where a half dozen of K&P's faster boys and girls did battle. Four were within a stride or two of their PBs,five finished within a couple of seconds of each other and two - U15 Nick Hart 2.22.7 and U13 Harry Reynolds 2.24.1 -  annihilated their best marks. U15 Neil Wellard(2.21.9) just got home from U15 Elle Butcher(2.22.5),Hart,Reynolds,U15 Nadia Allan(2.24.6) and 11 year old Leila Allan running a lonely furrow but still consistently around her 2.48 pb in her first 4/5 races at the distance in her first serious season. An invigorating race to watch!
