5th - Richmond Park - Club 7 Miles Champs(words from Matt Hyett/full result on this site)

Last Saturday saw the Club 7 mile championships at Sheen Gate, Richmond Park.

It was quite a mild and dry day for this time of year, and nineteen of us (including runners from Hercules Wimbledon and Milos) took on the challenge.

At the front of the field there was a group of 7 who were all running pretty closely throughout the duration of the race, and this made for an exciting battle.

First in was James Robertson, now new holder of the long-standing David Pool trophy. Well done James. He was followed by Jamie McCullagh, Richard Mathie, Mark Reed, Phil Glynn, Matt Hyett and Andy Arbour. From 1st in to 7th in there was only a space of 1 minute and 40 seconds!

As usual it was a fairly close contest between Bob McDonough and Ant Budarkiewicz with respect to leading veteran, Ant retaining the Pat Wilks trophy however this year. Natalie Sacre was the first woman home, and recipient of a gold medal.

My thanks, as ever, to all those who flagged and marshalled.

Next up is the second Surrey League match at Lloyd Park Croydon. Would be good to see as many as possible for this race, to consolidate our excellent start.

6th - Guildford -  Losely 4k - Alex Mackula ran 17.45.

6th - Nonsuch Park - Surrey Classic 10k R2 - Liz Richardson,aiming for April's London Marathon, was again our only runner,finishing in 55th/179 with 45.33.

12th - parkruns - Phil Bearman Snr was first K&P home in 40th(19.50) in Bushy Park, with Toby Deighton 182nd(22.39),ahead of mum,Avelline(340th - 25.17) and bro. Oliver 456th in 27.10. Some 740 plus finished. Over at Roundshaw Downs,Maureen Chitty ran into 55th/81 in 31.17.

16th - Wimbledon Common - London Colleges League M3 - HCA Chris Bannon moved up to 11th this time out and Richard Mathie placed 28th,helping their Imperial College squad to continue to make a realistic challenge to a so-far dominant St Mary's. Both also contributed substantially in last Saturday's League races - with Richard 2nd home for K&P at Lloyd Park in the Surrey League Div Two(q.v),and Chris well placed in the Coventry Godiva scoring team which ran Birmingham University close in the first Birmingham League Div One race at Leamington.

19th - Parliament Hill Fields - London Youth Games - The prolific Harry Reynolds, was only beaten for the premier U13 Boys prize on the "dip",with the same time as the winner,Paul Burgess(LB of Croydon) - 186 finished. In the U15 Girls,Laura Darcey was a useful 41st/162 and in the U17W event Jenny Miles placed 21st from 69. All 3 K&P members were in the colours of the LB of Richmond. RBK were not represented.

19th - parkruns - Bushy saw Natalie Sacre 241st/23.72 & Cashel Riordan 475th/27.10 in a field of 795. Further afield,David Greenfield came 50th/21.44 out of 274 finishers at the Cambridge event.

20th - Camberley - Neil Wellard took himself to the Camberley Open CC,and claimed a good 3rd place in the U15 Boys race in 14.17.

26th - South of Thames 5Miles Champs - Nork Park,Banstead - Not a great deal of enthusiasm, sadly, for these Champs in the Club just now; Bob McDonough(V65) led the Men home in 138th/118M(41.53),followed by David Greenfield(V55) in 154th/125M(43.01);then Nicky Atkins(W45) in 156th/31W(43.15) heading Natalie Sacre(SW) in 172nd/39W(46.14).

26th - parkruns - Bushy:33 Phil Bearman Snr 19.28,194 Gaby Miles 22.48,230 Jenny Miles 23.12----Kingston:8 Harry Reynolds 19.23;54 Clare Nelson(yeah!!!) 32.43----Richmond:184 Fiona Whatley 31.54----Roundshaw:74 Maureen Chitty 31.23.

27th - S.London 10k - Coulsdon - Ron Taylor placed a useful 8th in 37.37,always assuming it was OUR Ron,as there was no affiliation on TPoT!
