A winning start - full results on TOPS & TPOT
MATCH REPORT LILY B 2nd JUNE GUILDFORD
The amazing success of the LILY B team continued with a resounding win in their first match at Guildford. The team finished more than 60 points clear of their nearest rivals, Croydon and more than 150 points clear of the 3rd placed team Aldershot, a really fantastic result.
A great turn out on the day (37) and the willingness of people to try unfamiliar events meant we were able to have an A & B competitor in nearly every event and this made a huge difference to the points. We scored especially well in the field with people taking on events such as the Hammer, Triple jump and Pole vault often scoring maximum points in the B event. A special mention to Louisa who after only one training session took on the PV and came 2nd, whilst Laura C and Ella scored maximum point in the U17 event.
Our 2 new U17 triple jumpers (Bryony & Vanessa), again after only one training session scored 2nd A and 1st B which was another 11 points.
There were great performances across all the events in all the age groups with no less than 24 new personal bests. There were also some very encouraging performances from newcomers to the team Freya, Lauren, Savannah, Amelia, Charlotte, Eleanor & Phoebe.
The next match is at Croydon on 30th June so please put this date in your diaries now; to continue our success we need to have a strong team across all the age groups and this is only possible with large numbers of competitors.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all the parents and coaches who supported us on the day, it simply wouldn’t be possible without you.
