RBK SCHOOLS CHAMPS 6th - Leading Boys and Girls results below - only ones available

Another substantial turnout from our Borough Schools - over 340 in the two a.m. Primary races alone - featured,as one would hope,many of K&P's leading RBK youngsters. Results will highlight those who will be invited to represent RBK at the Surrey Schools Champs at Reigate on Jan 19th next year(first 10 in each race are invited initially),as well as others striving to improve under our coaching teams. (Some members - e.g. Neil Wellard(Epsom?),Harry Reynolds(Richmond),Phil Bearman & Sam Shaw(Elmbridge?) - will likely contest their own Borough Champs)
There was also a significant team of our Officials - 13 - who spent the whole day managing the courses on behalf of RBK. Considering this is a weekday,serious commitment! Luckily,the weather was fairly clement.(DD1,DD2,SS,MJ,DR,RB,GB,SD,CR,DB,FR,GR,RM)
3rd - parkruns - Bushy - Phil Bearman jnr ran 18.03(17th) and father Phil 18.21(23rd) before keeping going to Reigate for the Priory Relays in the afternoon;Cashel Riordan was 710th in 30.15(905fin);in the Dulwich race,Ron Taylor placed 9th/114 in 17.37;and in Richmond,Geoff Reed was 203rd/337 in 27.01 and Fiona Whatley 287th with 29.27.
3rd - Reigate - Priory Relays - James Robertson was again our fastest,running 14.38 on Leg 1 for the A team.Phil Bearman Snr(15.55),Mike Maranzano(16.11) and a speedy young Phil Bearman Jnr(14.54) brought the team in a useful 6th. Michael Huntley(15.44) opened the B team,but 2nd runs from James & Mike were all we could muster to support Michael.

10th - parkruns - Bushy - Jamie McCullagh took 5th/783(17.14),followed by Phil Bearman Jnr 11th(18.04) and PB Snr 13th(18.09) and all 3 ran well again in K&P colours in the afternoon Surrey League on Epsom Downs. Lucie Fletcher 128th,Matthew Stevens 160th,Darcy Bourne 169th,Leonie Kennedy 237th,Sacha Kennedy 291st and Richard Vassall 719th completed. Avelline Deighton was 34th/61 in the Kingston run.
17th - Parliament Hill - London Champs - On a typically muddy course,Nicky Atkins was K&P's sole Rep. in the Womens race over 6k,finishing,100th/139 in 30.24. On the spear side,we mustered 3,one short of a team,with Richard Mathie 57th(38.57),Michael Huntley 69th(39.20) and Matt Hyett 78th in 39.43. A field of 270 completed.
17th - Parliament Hill - London Youth Games CC - Under the management of Jim Desmond of Thames Tri,RBK made a good fist of their first appearance in these Inter-London Borough events - K&P athletes,representing either RBK or LBR,included:U13B 12 Aaron Bruce,45 Jorge Beltrao,99 Ben Paton+++U15B 12 Harry Reynolds,44 Josh Hall+++U17M 49 Matt Stevens+++U13G 95 Rebecca Keddie,99 Kathryn Bartle+++U15G 36 Lucille Fletcher+++U17W 16 Laura Cook,19 Laura Dunkling,27 Bridget Langford.
17th - parkruns - In Bushy,M45 Phil Bearman Senior continued to impress,taking 12th(18.58),whilst it was good to see Liz Richardson back in action,finishing well up in 343rd/809 in 25.30.At the Kingston run,Avelline Deighton ran into 53rd/92 with 25.48 and,at Nonsuch,Richard Vassall was 152nd/202 in 30.23.
24th - Reigate Priory Park - South of Thames 5M - Association President,Matt Hyett was the Good Samaritan,stopping to help an injured faller which jeopardised his finishing position. Well done,Sir! In the joint M&W race,Richard Mathie was our first home in a fine 17th(of 213 finishers) in 31.30;Michael Huntley was very close behind with one of his very best runs to date,taking 26th(32.13), with Matt in 57th(34.37) after his most unselfish gesture. Just Nicky Atkins represented K&P on the Women's side,finishing 191st in 44.22.
24th - parkruns - In Bushy,Lucille Fletcher was our sole runner,taking a forward 105th in 21.31(816 fin) - Ben Reynolds led the K&P contingent home in the Kingston run(4th 19.33),followed by the in-form Phoebe Law(6th 19.57),Rebecca Keddie(21st 22.16) and Avelline Deighton(54th 26.20)(80 fin) - Richard Vassall was 100th/220 in the Nonsuch event(26.16).
28th - HCA Chris Bannon was back in action and form,taking 2nd in the London Colleges League race at Alll Pally
