Surrey Ladies League Match 2

Nonsuch Park

Nonsuch Park is a new course for the Surrey Ladies League. It is an all off-road cross country, lacking in hills but has a lot of sticky muddy patches to sap your energy. The course was well marshalled and gave very good view points to watch the athletes. Thanks to Dave Barrington for being our official on the day.

Senior & Vets race 6.2k

Seven senior ladies & vets lined up at the start. 1st home was myself in 29th (28:50), followed by Rachel Brookes in 48th (30:25) and Nicky Atkins in 56th (30:59). Nikki Murphy finished in 79th (32:35) with Rosaline Darby completing the 'A' team in 95th (33:55). Caroline Jeffcote improved her time to 40mins exactly and finished 146th. 173 ran in the 2nd division. Sadly Avelline Deighton had to pull out after a recurring injury forced her to retire.

The team was 11th for the 2nd match but we lie in 8th overall.

U15/U17 race 4k

This was a great race to watch. We had 2 u17s and 1 u15. Phoebe Law finished in 2nd (19:29) and Laura Cook 10th (21:41) while Ellie Arnfield finished 25th in the u15 race. The u17 team currently lies in 3rd place of 12.

U13 race 3.1k

Having 3 athletes in this race was really encouraging. Darcy Bourne finished 6th (12:43), Mollie O'Sullivan 10th (12:54) and Rebecca Keddie 18th (13:26) of 39. The team was 4th overall but lie in 3rd place of 14 after 2 matches.

Next match 12th January 2013 on Mitcham Common
