Men - With wins from Jon Darby(800),Bilen Ahmet(PV),Chris Dack(SP),Chris Hall(LJ),Loic Malroux(JT) and the 4 x 200 we looked OK mid-match,but the lack of a 'Chaser and a 1500 rep. let SMR draw level at the death. A small turnout with Jason-Louis Bernard,Max Perez-Diaz and James Robertson completing the scorers, and with Mike May,Rory McCann and Draco Mkpa(recovering from injury) as NS. The mere presence of athletes in the MD would help, rather than expecting those there to double up,so please respond to TM Chris Dack for Eton and Woking,so we can qualify for the Final in good style.
Women - You cannot expect to do well in a 12-event fixture if you only have 4 athletes! Mae & Layla Thompson were in good form, with Mae taking a second off her flat 400 time with 58.1 in 1st and Layla winning her first 2000Steeple in 9.03.2. Natalie Sacre sprinted,on coach's orders, and showed fleet of foot not expected of her perhaps until now(14.5/30.9),whilst Nicky Atkins ran the 3000 and was immediately and sadistically dragged from off the railings into a 200 relay stint. That's commitment.
