We had an encouraging start to the season at our home match with a solid 3rd place (from 8 teams). If we had had m60s in the 400m, 5000m and Hammer, we might have got closer to Epsom (on 147 points) and Hercules (on 145 points) but our 128 points was comfortably ahead of Striders of Croydon in 4th on 104 points.

We had a double win in the Hammer and Discus from Gareth Cook, and further wins from Draco Mkpa in the m40 400 (he was also pipped for 1st in the 100, running without spikes), Andrew Gordon in the m35 100m, and newcomer Stephen Berkeley in the m50 400, while another newcomer Tobias Tetteh came 2nd in the M35 400. Mark Roberts got a double second in Pole Vault and Long Jump. Another making his debut in the league was Peter Wilkins who did the m35 5000m. Others contributing to our good start were - Mike May, Mike Edwards, newcomer Mark Reynolds, David Bell, David Greenfield, Rupert Bole, Ollie Oladele (in the relay), Rob Lowe (a new m50), Renzo Di Libero, Robin Shaw (another new m50), and Chuck Isetts.
