Sunday 3rd May –K&P member Johanna Barton raced in the “Bay Run” which is a half marathon in Cork on a hilly course in chilly conditions finishing in 2hrs 2mins to raise funds for Princess Alice Hospice, Esher who cared for her father the late David Gibbons, a former K&P member who sadly passed away March 2014. Johanna and her family raised a massive £2500 for the Hospice. There is still time to give if you wish to do so on Johanna’s just giving page which is:

Thursday 7th May three K&P members ran in the David Clarke 5km race, Non-Such Park. A small field of 82 competitors ran the course which consisted of two small loops followed by one larger loop on paths within the park totalling distance 2.98 miles measured by GPS. Debbie Raymond 21.52 (37th), David Greenfield 21.52 (39th) & Nicky Atkins 22.17 (42nd).
Sunday 10th May two K&P members (Nicky Atkins (42.08) & Matt Hyett (DNF)) tried out the new “Are you 2nd Sunday Ready?” run/race organised by THH on Wimbledon Common. The flagged & arrowed course was mainly flat along grass & paths and consisted of an out from the start, two loops and back to the finishing funnel totalling distance of 5 miles which I personally think was longer. A small group of 22 runners meant that we were spread out and I found myself on my own for a large majority of the run/race, however running on the common is so enjoyable that I didn’t mind. Afterwards there were well earned refreshments at the THH club house.
Next run Sunday 14th The cost of event is £3 for club runners, £5 for unattached & free for THH members. Next run Sunday 14th June. Ideal run/race to get K&P noticed. Meet at THH club house for 9.30am start.
