Last week I helped officiate at the Polylauf, which has now become the traditional end-of-year event for the Club. It was a really enjoyable evening and set me thinking about how the Club and its members had fared in 2015.

When I look back I realise that this has been one of the most successful years in recent times with many fine individual performances as well as some fantastic results from our teams entered in the various leagues. This success does not come without a lot of effort from all those concerned.

Firstly, the athletes that have competed for the Club have all strived to do their best and often competed in unfamiliar events to help their team’s cause.

Secondly, there are the Coaches who train our athletes to get them performing to their best at the right time. Their expertise and enthusiasm is vital for our success.

Next I must thank all the family members and friends who have supported our athletes and undoubtedly spurred them on to better performances.

Then there are those members who have helped officiate at not only the matches we host, but also those where we are a visiting team. It is crucial that we have sufficient officials, as without them the competitions could not take place. Hopefully we can get even more people helping next year.

Finally, there is the Club Committee whose members do so much to ensure that the Club is a viable organisation which can provide the facilities etc. which we need to have to be successful. Whether it be as a Team Manager, Administrator or filling other roles, all members of the Committee give a great deal of their time voluntarily and this is fundamental in ensuring that KACPH remains as a truly successful club and one which it enjoyable to be involved with.

I would therefore like to personally thank all of you, whichever of the above categories apply, for all your efforts in 2015, it is greatly appreciated.

Can I finish by wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Successful New Year. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in 2016.

Best regards

David Hillyer
