All rule changes will be voted on at the AGM on the 26th February held at Kingsmeadow Function rooms from 6.30pm onwards.

Specific Rule changes:

3:

The Club colours shall be vests with blue at the top and black at the bottom, with a white diagonal band. Blazer and tracksuit badges shall incorporate a beehive, three fishes and five diamonds.

5:

A candidate for election to membership must: (1996)

  1. 1. be proposed and seconded by two existing members of the Club;

    1. have filled in the membership form and paid the appropriate subscription;

    2. if under sixteen years of age, have membership form countersigned by a parent or guardian;

    3. have declared membership of any club past or present; and

    4. purchase a Club vest on joining the Club.

A candidate for election to membership must:

6:

Election to membership shall be by a majority vote of the Executive Committee. Membership of the Club commences upon the actual date of election. Life membership may be conferred by the Annual General Meeting, subject to prior nomination of the Executive Committee, upon any member who has rendered exceptional service to the club, either in any branch of active athletics or in an official capacity.

New members will be presented to Committee each month, but their Club Membership will start as soon as their fees are paid, their registration details entered into the Membership Database and they have agreed to the Club Rules and the Club Code of Conduct. Life Membership may be conferred by the Annual General Meeting, subject to prior nomination of the Committee, upon any member who has rendered exceptional service to the Club, either in any branch of active athletics or in an official capacity.**

A notice of resignation must be in writing and shall be considered by the Club within one calendar month of receipt. Membership shall be held to have cased on the actual tendering of notice. The resignation of the member who is in arrears of subscriptions will not be accepted until his/her indebtedness has been met unless, in the opinion of the Executive Committee, there are extenuating circumstances. The date of the resignation shall then be the date in which the debt is discharged.

The Executive Committee shall have the power to expel any member whose subscription is six months in arrears, provided a month’s notice in writing has been sent by registered letter or recorded delivery to his / her last known address, informing him/her of the action proposed. The name and address of any member so expelled shall be sent to the Honorary Secretaries of the appropriate governing bodies for such action as they may deem to be necessary.

  1. Under 11 years;

  2. 11 to 16 years;

  3. 17 to 20 years;

  4. Over 20 years;

  5. Family membership; and

  6. Students in full-time education.

Disbursements from the Club funds shall be made only by the Treasurer, the Deputy Treasurer or any other such person nominated by the Committee and subject to the direction of the Committee. All expenses must be presented to the Treasurer no later than 6 months of expenditure.

Members are forbidden to enter any [Athletics] competition which is not permitted under UK Athletics rules.

To qualify for a Club Annual Performance award, athletes must be first claim and must have competed in at least two league competitions for the club, unless there are exceptional circumstances which prevent this. (2016)General
