The Surrey Masters XC Championships were held yesterday afternoon, Saturday 22nd October, in Richmond Park. K&P women were successful with entering a team of 5 athletes in the over 35 years age group, 3 to score.
After completing a two lap course and racing a total distance of 6km, it was Nina White (w45), making her debut cross country race for K&P, who brought the team home, followed by Liz Richardson (W40) and Susanne Dietrich (w50) to complete the scoring team. Avelline Deighton (w45) was not far behind Susanne, followed by Caroline Jeffcote (w40) to complete the team
Our team finished 6th out of 6 teams. However we were against some very strong clubs and other many of the other clubs did not manage to enter full teams.
Matt Atkins ran as an individual in the men over 40 /50 race and won in a time of 34.42 minutes, 4 seconds in front of 2nd place Kristian Leanard (SLH).
Susanne kindly stayed behind to support Matt in his superb finish.
