After a tough start to the season at Sutton where we had a small team, we had an improved result with a good 2nd
place finish at Croydon.
It was a warm sunny day with little wind which made it a good day for competing and we had many new PBs from our
athletes.
1 Herne Hill Harriers 269
2 Kingston AC & Poly Harriers 237
3 Guildford & Godalming 231
4 South London Harriers 217
5 Holland Sports 55
6 Dorking & Mole Valley 37
For the U11s we were 1 short on numbers for a relay, however all 3 or the girls managed at least 1 PBs each.
Our U13 team was very light with only 5 girls meaning that we had many events with no K&P representation but this
did not deter them with some great performances. We also welcome newcomer Gabriella Ceccherini.
We had a fair turn out for the U15’s with a total of 8 girls. This included newcomer Zoe Mason.
For our U17’s our small team of 7 due to GCSEs meant it was difficult to fill events. We welcome back Caroline Stolz
from knee injury and recorded 2 PBs!
Athlete of the match T-shirts to Jemima Harcourt (U13’s) with a PB in the 100m, Emilia Chittenden (U15’s) with 2 PBs
in the 800m and Jong Jump and Louisa Stoney (U17’s) with a PB in the Triple Jump and scoring a massive 17 point
out of a maximum of 18.
Thank you also to Frank Schubert, Susanne Dietrich, Rory McFarlane, Brian McLean, Sarah Chittenden, Paul
Tunnacliffe and Louise Doherty for helping out on the day with official duties. Team coaching and warm ups from Pat
Logan. Please accept my apologies if I have missed anyone.
Next up is the Lily B Match on 1st July 2017 at Guildford Spectrum. We will be up against Croydon AC, Sutton District
also Herne Hill Harriers who are all strong. We hope to put out a larger team next time round and push for the win.
Finally, I hope you had a good day and look forward to seeing you soon.
