On the individual front,Bob McDonough kicked off the month with 2nd place in the M60 group in the Dorking 10 miles(68.02).

The Marathon Windows Tour of Epsom provided 5 days of racing,with Rachel Burbridge,a previous female winner,finishing 35th overall and 3rd female;Dave Gibbons,Debbie Raymond,Mike Elliot & Johanna Gibbons also completing the full monty. Over the weekend at Hexham,Dominique Blaize,in her first serious outing of the summer,claimed silver at the AAA of England U20W Heptathlon with a substantial score of 4823 points,which would have placed her 6th equal in the 2004 UK Rankings.Apart from that,she set 4 Club Records at U20 level(plus exceeding Charmaine Johnson's Open Heptathlon mark by some 300 points),but surprisingly not in either the HJ or LJ -- 14.73 100H, 25.24 200 & 11.27 SP plus the actual Hept. score above. Catherine Reed completed the hilly Edinburgh Marathon(3h.50) on the 12th,outside her PB,but next goes for the Abingdon race on an altogether flatter and potentially faster course.

Congratulations to Camilla Thrush on her selection for the British Masters team for the Interland international against France & Belgium at Ashford on the 25th(SP/DT but,sadly,not so far,the HT!).

Jamie McCullagh moved into the UK 800 Top 25 with a fine 1.50.50 at Watford on June 15 - and an auto entry into the AAAs. Good shout for a Club Record were it not for predecessors such as Colin Campbell 1.46.1(a UK record at the time) and Bob Adams 1.46.8(a Welsh record then).

At Ashford,Kent,in the Southern Senior Champs.,Victor Nwagbara continued his return to full action after exams by clocking 11.16(ht) & 22.32(sf);newcomer Andre Nembhard ran 11.31 just behind Victor;and James Heptonstall leapt out to a 6.84 LJ,with a +2.9 wind,but having qualified with 6.47,also jumped a legal 6.64 for 9th overall.

At Ashford,Camilla Thrush,representing GB against France & Belgium in the Interland Vets Match,placed 4th/5th in the SP/DT with 10.54/31.79.

Competing for Surrey in the annual ArmyHants/Achilles fixture at a rather windy Aldershot on June 29,Humphrey Waddington upped his HJ PB TO 1.80;Mike Maranzano,against his employers, won the 2000ST(6.27.4);and James Heptonstall(6.38/13.26),Victor Nwagbara & Camilla Thrush(SP 10.33) were also in action.

On the 30th,Maddy Garner(Y7 1500/HJ 5.37.5/1.30) & Lucy Jones(Y8 Hdls) were winners in the Borough Champs Part 2,with Ezra Nelson triple jumping 9.45 as probably the best mark from the K&P members in action.
