id237-SVL SWLondonDivision M2 Ewell June 6th 2005 Report

Written by DB

There was a far better assembly at Ewell,about which the TMs would be pleased,no doubt! Some 12 men and 7 women were in action;both teams mirrored their 2nd places from Crawley and are 2nd overall to E&E in both cases---WOMEN - Match - E&E 135/K&P 89/CRO 69/DMV 61/SoC 23/RSB 21 - Overall - E&E 16/K&P 14/CRO 12/DMV 10/SoC 8/RSB 3----MEN - Match - E&E 150/K&P 121/CRO 94/DMV 71/SoC 66/CRA 19/RSB 15 - Overall - E&E 16/K&P 14/DMV 11/CRO 9/RSB 7/CRA 7/SoC 6/S&D 1.

A couple of wins for Camilla Thrush & one for the 4x400 squad( Nicki,Nicky,Jane & Rachel in a new Club Vets record of 4.51.5) headed the womens' scores;with only 6 scoring athletes (+ one non-scoring),it was hard going to fill all the events - Dina Francis & Joan Trimble were there supporting but are out of action.Nonetheless, with Your Lady President abounding, we were still too good for all but E&E.

On the mens' side,TM Mike May clocked another Vet PB in taking the 200(27.0),Robin Shaw(M40 PV& DT) & Simon Croall(M40 3000) made welcome first track appearances,Chuck Isetts(M60 200) & long-distance traveller John Ratcliff(M50 800 & TJ) also scored the max. 8 pointers, the latter nicked his first Club M50 Record with his 9.83 TJ and Pat Logan had a battle royal with Paul Lavender in the M40 200.

Full results at Kingsmeadow shortly.
