This summer's County Track & Field Rankings for the younger age groups can be found,as usual,on the County website - www.surreyathletics.org.uk
National Lists have now appeared in Athletics Weekly - but, note,it is a major achievement to reach this level and K&P will only have a celebrated few. Much fuller National Union of Track Statisticians lists for GB will be published in book form to a much greater depth in the Spring,as usual.
Starting with U20W,Dominique Blaize is ranked 11th at 100H(14.50),7th at HJ(1.75/1.76i),9th at LJ(5.90) & 4th in Heptathlon(5024pts).
Injury dogged Matthew Field's season and prevented his racing with electronic timing, but his manual 13.5 put him 8th on the UK U17M 100m Hurdles listings.
In the Womens Vets W35,Camilla Thrush crowned the Weight Throw list with 12m.44,and in the Under 15 Girls both Mary Iheke(300m 42.4) & Harriet Lester(75Hurdles 11.71/11.56w/11.6man) can be very-well-pleased with their 14th place rankings nationally.
At Under 13 Girls,Phoebe Haynes makes her first appearance in the National Lists;her 11.88 70m Hurdles at Woking in September ranks her 12th in the UK.
And,finally, but by no means least,we survey the UK Top Fifty - in the Men's Track lists,Jamie McCullagh's 1.50.50 at 800 ranks him 47th and he is our sole rep. there but our throwers once again figure prominently - in the Shot,Kyle Stevens was 24th= but a fine 3rd at U23 level with his putts of 15.25i/15.23 and Nic Owen was 37th with his 14.51;in the Hammer,we also had 2 reps with Gareth Cook's 56.95 giving him 22nd overall and Kyle's 53.28 making him 38th and 5th Under 23;and,in the Javelin,Felix Hatton's 61.75 ranking him 34th and 6th at Under 23 level.
Moving to the Women,Dominique Blaize was our sole ranking member but she made it FOUR times - 39th at 100H(14.50);then 17th at HJ(1.76i/1.75);then 29th at LJ(5.90);and,in the Heptathlon, she achieved the leading K&P ranking, with her 5024 pts giving her 13th in the whole UK.
Very well done all those who achieved such high levels in these 2005 Lists, but, remember, the idea is to go on to greater deeds!
In the Mens Veterans 3-deep lists,Pat Logan TOPS the M45 100 at 11.43 and is 3rd at 200 with 23.74,both achieved in San Sebastian-------Les Hatton makes 2nd in the M55 Javelin with his 44m.23-------Chuck Isetts is 3rd = at M60 100 at 13.3.
