id414-NYAL S1W M3 Woking June 4th 2006 Report

Written by DB

The 3rd match of the season attracted around 40 members on a fine sunny day at Sheerwater but the almost complete dearth of Under 17 Men again scuppered a major revival;we finished 3rd,behind Woking and will not have escaped from the bottom 5.

Scores:Dacorum&T 360/Woking 326/K&P308/Poole 265.

Mary Iheke, very deservedly, took the Womens Track Athlete of the Match Award,George Wilkins took the Mens Track Award and William Trimble relieved Felix Hatton of the U15 Boys Club Javelin record with 43.72

On the Girls side,Mary again scored her max. three wins in fine style and looks to be heading towards the English Schools;other A string wins came from Roseanne Mackay(U17 TJ 9.71),Harriet Lester(U17 80H 12.5),Clarissa Brierley(U17 HT 15.14),Lucy Clacher(U15 70H 13.4),Phoebe Haynes(U15 HJ 1.45),Victoria Douglas(U13 LJ 4.19) & Stephanie Espinosa(U15 1500 5.36.6),plus the U17 4x100(52.0).

What the male side lacked at U17 level was more than made up for by the U13s and U15s;George Wilkins(U13 SP 7.70/75H 14.0),Jake Budd(U15 100 12.5),Richard Smeaton(U15 400 56.5/HJ 1.45) & David Fitzpatrick(U13 HJ 1.25/100 14.4) all won A strings,had 4 outings each and remained unbeaten inc all 3 relays;Joe Johnson(U15 HT 20.98/SP 9.66) & Jobie Burke(U13 LJ 4.07) also won A strings;best double win probably came in the U15 JT where Callum Burke also threw a PB(36.55) alongside William Trimble's success.
