id416-SVL SLDiv M2 Kingston June 5th 2006 Report

Written by DB

The weather continued to be more favourable than in May at Croydon and,added to home advantage,the K&P teams took advantage. Not,however,so far as to head Epsom & Ewell(yet!). Result(Men) - E&E 143/K&P 124/DMV 101/CRO 95/SoC 65/S&D 30 with overall placings being E&E 16/K&P 13/CRO 12/DMV 11/SOC 8/S&D 6/RSB 2/CRA 1. and (Women) - E&E 126/K&P 86/CRO 70/DMV 58/S&D 22/CRA 6 with overall E&E 16/CRO 13(167)/K&P 13(158)/DMV 10/S&D 4/RSB 4/SOC 3/CRA 3.

The girls were again very light with just 5 in action - Nicki Murphy returned to score well, running a fine winning last leg in the 4 x 400;Camilla Thrush won twice(inc DT 33.33);and Rachel Disley,Nicky Atkins & Joan Trimble each won once.

The men were much better off with 16,though lacking at least four leading exponents. Fario Marismari was a double winner(inc 2.70 PV - shades of 4m days!!);Geoff van Klaveren took the M40JT(33.63) and Bob McDonough took a pole position over 3000(the day after the Dorking 10). There were 4 2nd places in the 200(Messrs May,Curzon,Isetts & Simmons) whilst the fair turnout ensured there was not too much rushing from event to event - a pleasant evening.

Full results, courtesy of E&E's speedy Don Turner, on the K&P NB on Wed pm.
