A wet and blustery day in Essex was the scene for another rearguard action for the slimline K&P women but the 150 pts scored, provided there is a much improved turnout at the final match at Kingsmeadow on September 2,ought to see the team safely retain its Division 2 status for 2007.
Match score:Thurrock 207.5/BMH 177/K&P 150/W Norfolk 122.5/Bournemouth 101.
After 5 matches,we lie 18th of 25,with 736pts ahead of WimbornePoole 726.5 and,in 20th place, and the highest of the 6 who would be relegated, are Bexley with 647.5. from Ipswich 628. The remaining 4 teams are over 200 pts behind us.

The 11 members of the 'Senior' section all had to squeeze their life blood,as is fairly usual,to accumulate points, particularly as just 3 U15/U13 members made the trip. With limitations on number of events(3+relay),Maddy Garner,Natalie Ellis & Rahannah Gillette-Vernon struggled willingly to put their 32 pts on the board, but if ever there was a case for removing the youngsters from this league this was it. Pertinently,it has been pointed out that, had this been a Seniors only match,we would have won it.
All 11 'Seniors' were at or close to their limits of allowed events and displayed their customary commitment! There were 5 pointers A or B from 9 - Roseanne Mackay,Rachel Burbridge,Debbie Raymond(3),Sasha Gordon(2),Camilla Thrush,Harriet Lester,Chyna Vincent,Liz Patrick & Nicky Atkins - plus Alison Jones & TM Debbie Vernon joining CT & NA in striking chords for our redoubtable veterans!
There were double 1sts in the 400H,PV & TJ with Liz Patrick's 11.38 & Sasha Gordon's 10.83 in the TJ about the best individual marks, the former in her last competition before becoming Mrs.Davidson. Neither the team's situation nor the weather were condusive to PBs though there were season's bests here and there.
