Well done everybody! In a far better supported Lily B Final than last year from all clubs,Team Manager John Simmons gathered about our best turnout this summer in all fixtures featuring the three main age groups;and he was able to fill every string available, matching our 3rd place of last year but with over 120 pts more.
Full Cup Final Result - Guildford &G 483/Bracknell 435/K&P 401.5/Sutton 353.5/Epsom &E 298/AFD 206.

In the sprints, there were good performances across the age groups - U11 Anna Hage was clearly the fastest of some 30 opponents at 75/150 with 11.6/23.4;U13 Soracha Healy won the 100(14.0) and was just edged at 200(29.3);at U15,Charlie Ambidge shone with 2nd twice(100 13.6/200 27.7);and at U17,Mary Iheke took both 200&300,not unusually, with 25.9(=PB) and 41.2.
The middle distances are our achilles heel at all levels, male & female, but there was a useful 800 PB from U13 Jessica Tomlinson(2.56.6);the hurdles ARE more our forte with Victoria Douglas & Lucy Clacher at U13,and,of course, the celebrated Mlles Mackay & Lester at U17,all of whom were to the fore.
In the jumps,U15 newcomers Charlie Ambidge(LJ 4.53) & Emily McIlwain(HJ 1.40) impressed whilst in the throws, U13 Eleanor van Klaveren(JT 22.81 etc) improves rapidly,Natalie Ellis(U15 DT) again scored well at DT, & Amy Simmons & Laura Luxon achieved PBs in the U17 Hammer,to the delight of coach Tony Cook.
K&P winners were U13 100 Soracha Healy and,in the U17s,the said Amy & Laura(twice) plus our 8th-ranked-in-the-UK-over-300m Mary Iheke(twice). Not too many over 36 events, each with A&B strings, but just proves we do have some depth and some commitment from time to time.
