The Womens team performed exceptionally well to retain their 2nd place in the league at the halfway stage;and this despite being one short of a full-scoring squad of five.
Rachel Burbridge was again well to the fore in the Senior race, finishing 3rd in Div 2(in the early 20s overall of some 240 runners) - her time was 26.05;Charlie Sklener(nee Donkin) on a rare appearance took a fine 10th(27.57) with Nicki Atkins 23rd(29.01) & Debbie Raymond 24th(29.06);but,sadly,there it ended and we caught a 107pt supplement for the missing 5th runner.
However, the team still lies 2nd(with 3 to go up to Div One) with 255pts to Runnymede's 158 - 3rd are Elmbridge 282,followed by Striders of Croydon 372 & Linfield 431.
Our only other competitor - with Tiffins Girls in action in the English Schools Cup in particular - was Isobel Penney who was a useful 15th(17.38) in the mixed U15/U17 race and she was actually the 2nd U17 home.
Like the Men,we must hope to do much better in the 3rd matches in the New Year.
