A reasonably benign Downs morning welcomed in the first of the winter's Downs League races,though not before K&P had to rescue the fixture when the scheduled organisers dropped out.

A smashing turnout from Epsom & Ewell(42 of the 67 runners) made up for the withdrawals of Sutton & St Paul's Junior School from the league,though we welcomed Gill Broderick's Hinchley Wood Primary School for the first time.Though there was much encouragement from Nicky Atkins and the TGs coaches at Kingsmeadow,only 9 K&P contested the day,of whom at least 3 had run the day before.

In the 38-strong Under 11 race,Matthew Broderick took 6th and Martin Purkiss 16th,with the team 7th;we fielded three in the U13 event,in which 18 finished, with Ollie Garner 6th just pipping Nikolaj Schubert 7th and Alistair Orr 11th,with the team 3rd;and at U15(11 ran),Ed Croall(5th),Jake Budd(6th),Maddie Garner(8th) & Francesca Currie(10th) were our team(2nd).
