You could not make it up,could you?
New Chief Executive for Sport England announced
One of Roger Draper’s last acts as CE of Sports England was to approve a grant for the Lawn Tennis Association of £35million. This handy present marked the return of Draper to the LTA as head following his unimpressive stint at Sports England. The last six months has seen a worldwide search for a high calibre person to fill Drapers shoes. That search is now over.
You will not have heard of the appointee who appropriately starts on 1st April 2007. The irony may be lost on the Appointments Board but many will find it amusing that the successful candidate – Jennie Price – is currently Chief Executive of the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP).
Today’s press notes that the appointment is another triumphant blow for women at the top of our sport!
