Congratulations to Ross Shaddick on winning the Club's magnificent Mabel Winter Bowl for the fastest marathon of 2006
Oliver Garner was first up for the New Year,returning 23.46 for 67th in the NYD BPTT,followed by Mum Julie with a 25.22 clocking for 84th.
The 6th Jan BPTT featured just Susanna Dietrich who returned 24.06 for 121st.
The K&P U15 Boys again dominated at the 2nd of the winter's Sportshall matches at Spectrum,with 5 individual scorers in the top ten - this time Richard Smeaton was best,followed by Patrick Hillyer,Gordon Lester,William Trimble & Jake Budd. The Under 13 Boys took 3rd this time. In the U13 Girls,the return of Victoria Douglas & Soracha Healy saw the team up to 7th,whilst the U15 Girls were again headed by Molly Renfer,fresh from her outing on the mud at Lloyd Park the day before,along with Maddie Garner. Indoors at Eton,Andre Nembhard clocked 7.17&7.20 over 60m,with Lucy Jones,in her first outing as an U17,given 9.82 over 60H.
Katja Schlerf(165th in 25.57) was our only finisher in the 124th BPTT on the 13th.
Edition 125 of the BPTT(20th) saw Ruby Woolfe(U13) 130th in a PB 23.47;Alistair Orr(U13) 160th in 24.59 & Susanna Dietrich 167th at 25.17
Over the same weekend,several were taking a first dab at the brief Indoor season at the SoEAA Champs at Lee Valley. Day 1 saw James Heptonstall take 5th in the SMLJ(6.70) but,sadly,had his series curtailed by a possible hamstring pull;Humphrey Waddington was able only to run 60 flat(7.52);Matt Field upped his performances from Eton by half a yard,clocking 8.58,then 8.54 for 4th in the U20M 60H;Harriet Lester got through to the U17W 60H SF(9.30/9.34),though Lucy Jones,also now U17,is still coming to terms with the new heights/spacings(9.70;and,best of the day maybe,a PB 3m50(5th U17 PV) for Gordon Lester in his first comp.since setting his outdoor PB last autumn.
Day 2 - Adam Bellis showed good form with 51.49 in his 400 SF(51.60ht);Mike Mason made a welcome return to competition after at least 2 years out,running 57.02 in his 400ht;and M45 Mike May ran 28.81/65.76. Top of the pile medal-wise was Kyle Stevens who took gold in the SM SP with 14m94.
Back on very windy Epsom Downs(21st),Nicky Atkins completed Epsom Oddball's multi-terrain The Perch in 47.12 with husband John just over the hour mark.
Ron Taylor was 6th(17.53),James Williams 95th(21.07),Liz Richardson 163rd(23.52) & Alistair Orr 183rd(24.45) in the BPTT on the 27th - it was a Club Champs Day,though!
The Sutton Open(28th) attracted 7 of Chuck's sprinters over 60m - Tom Butcher ran 7.21 twice;best Vet was David Curzon(8.28) and Jason Bernard was a winner,but our 8th entrant,Andre Nembhard,was fastest up with 7.18/7.19,just heading TB in one race.
Elsewhere,Gordon Lester again upped his PV best to 3m52,Mary Iheke clocked 8.07/8.09 over 60 and Harriet Lester's 9.23 bettered her SoEAA time. Full results inc.other K&P details can be found at - www.belgraveharriers.com
Meanwhile,Chris Hall travelled to the Welsh U20 Champs in Cardiff(27th/28th),returning pleased with 2 silvers(LJ/TJ 6.41/12.41 plus 7.29ht/7.3m(5thF) over 60m.
