A busy opening SVL evening ,with Wheelchairs too,probably set the scene for the summer campaign - for a change Croydon outsmarted E&E men,with K&P trailing in 3rd,whilst we gave E&E Women a good run for their money - 2 matches next at Croydon may well confirm those patterns . We were short in the field on the mens side,plus we had no walkers,whilst we only have two active W50/W60s. For the first time M35s were included in the younger age group.

On the mens side,our sprinters excelled - Pat Logan(M45) & Draco Mkpa(M35) both won at 11.9,with Chuck Isetts taking 2nd at 13.8,plus a spiffing win in the 4x1 - and there were useful efforts from Ant Budarkiewicz(1500),John Simmons(LJ) & 2c Jack Rutherford(HT).

Distaff-wise,there were wins for Nicki Murphy(100),Joan Trimble(100) & 2c Jo Regan(HJ/TJ);and amongst the highlights were a 5.47.5 1500 from Nicky Atkins,a 19.88 HT from Debbie Vernon and welcome track appearances from Susanne Dietrich,Julie Garner & Gill Broderick.
