An overnight seemed to have done the trick, and, though the chosen establishment turned out to have a 'certain reputation' with the locals, the 2007 SWL Season was completed in fine style with our first win of the summer.
With 'The Sisters' in tandem again and Nicky Atkins also back, the troublesome gaps were effectively filled and all strings were covered. Nine A string wins, with Dominique irrepressibly dominant in 5,and 4 B successes, raised the spirits and this is the buoyant way to end any season and look forward to the next for both the athletes and the management.
Sprints - Mary Iheke(12.7/26.8),Dominique Blaize(26.4) & Roseanne Mackay(13.1) comfortably saw off all the opposition.
400 thru 3000 - The return of Rachel Burbridge to the track & both she and Nicky Atkins to the SWL to team up with Debbie Raymond was a real boost. Still too much for 3 athletes to cover, but significant for the team.
Hurdles - Dominique easily took the 100,with Debbie R contributing 9pts.
Relays - Good win for the 4x1(Chyna/Roseanne/Sasha/Dominique);and by far the fastest 4x4 of our season(4.26.6 - Mary 62.4 on leg 1).
Jumps - All A strings were won, even though Liz D. was away - Dominique HJ/LJ(1.75/5.64),Sasha Gordon(10.91 in her first TJ of the summer) & Chyna Vincent with a PV PB at 2.00.Roseanne Mackay took the B TJ at 10.59.
Throws - With Camilla Thrush in Italy for the World Masters, the team management and their daughters took the main responsibility - Dominique took the SP,Sasha grabbed 2nd in the Javelin(25.18 SB),Debbie V won a 5-pointer in the Hammer & Clare claimed a SB in the Javelin.
Scores - K&P 125,PAC 109,CambH 101,Newbury 79,Hillingdon 61. - Full results on the NB at Kingsmeadow
Final League position in this first-ever Seniors only Division - 13th(of 24) with 527.5pts.
