On a rainy & windswept day, which had caused the cancellation of the Kingston Schools Meet, there were good turnouts and good results from the evening match at the Thames Valley Centre. With 3 English Schools reps in action, the women obliterated their opponents, who were few in actual fact, for a handsome win and an overall lead - Rachel Burbridge's first-ever Steeplechase over 2000m(8.01.0) was a highlight - this will be the inaugural club record until the 3000 event is fully established. On the men's side,Humphrey Waddington's six-event 2p.b. stint set the stage, with Craig Price(400),Draco Mkpa(200),James Heptonstall(LJ) & Mike Maranzano(2kSt)-all from the BAL squad- scoring maximum points. Scores- Men - R&T 61,K&P 56,BA 48 etc & overall it is R&T 22.5/K&P 18.5/BA 13.5/BoE 11.5/Walton 10/E&E 7 and the Women - K&P 53 with the rest each in single figures & overall - K&P19/E&E 13/Walton 12/BA 8 & R&T 2.
