Another healthy and competitive response saw the team well in contention;Herne Hill did manage to turn things round and now head us but only by a mere 13 match points,as we are level on League points. With home advantage to come at the final match on August 3rd,there is a real chance of the Club repeating its Trophy successes of 2003 & 2004.
There was some strong scoring in the U13 group - William van Klaveren won the Javelin(29.73),Sam Vassell picked up 2 B string wins and was only just pipped in the 800 by Matt Broderick(2.42.9),James Khan took the B HJ(1.30) and ran a strong 400(70.9) whilst Alex Mackintosh scored well without a win for once and Tom Field was only just outside his bests at 100/200.
At U15,it will be the addition of a couple of 2nd Years at Kingston which could sway the result K&P's way - the 1st years were in good form, though. David Fitzpatrick(Y1) again showed good tactics to win the 1500(4.57.8) and the Div One hurdles;Aidan Fahey(Y1) took the Javelin(19.63);Rohit Naha(Y2)ran a useful 100/200 double(12.8/26.1) but found himself up against some stronger youngsters from Croydon,HH & HWAC but was out to 10.82 in the Triple Jump;Nikolaj Schubert(Y1) improved to 2.37.8 over 800;Michael Christov(Y1) looked the part over 200 & HJ;and Adam Curran,Nick Logan & Jack Field picked up handy points.
William Trimble & Frank Johnson at U17 ensured we did not miss out on the new scoring events in this group;and Rory Vassell added to our prospects for the future in his non-scoring U11 group.
