Though non-scoring,our two leading Under 11s,Caitlin Dimbleby & Eva Clarke, continued to impress. Caitlin won all 3 of her events - she was 2nd fastest of over 30 athletes over 75m(11.6) and was simliarly placed overall over 150m(23.6),completing a hattrick by winning the Long Jump outright at 3m34. Eva was only just adrift with 11.8 and 24.1 and she.too, headed most of the large field in the sprints.
In the match, best performances in the Under 13s came from:Alexandra Bartle, who improved over 800 to 3.01.3,a 5-second surge from previous K&P marks;Mae Thompson looked the part over 70 Hurdles, winning the B race and taking almost a second off her last best; and Saskia Fitzpatrick, who leapt out to 4m10(2A) in the Long Jump.
At Under 15,the leading lights were Gaby Miles with her best 800 in K&P colours(2.34.2) though outside her PB;Lucy Clacher with two more than decent 2nds at 75H(12.9) & a 4.33 LJ;Eleanor van Klaveren(20.01 2A Javelin & 15.74 DT);and Natalie Rennie(11.74 DT),Charlotte Merryfield(3.73 LJ) & Parisa Gregg(14.73 JT) all showed improved form for 2008.
Of the Under 17s,Pippa Wingate claimed two useful PBs with 8.37 SP/23.56 DT and coupled with Natalie Ellis(23.19 DT) should be looking to stake claims to the club's more senior teams with a good winter's work;Molly Renfer,as ever,& Olivia Brauten-Smith also shone.
