At the Bushy Park TT(4th),Robert Hunter(U17) improved his best by 40 secs in finishing 36th of over 500 runners in 19.05;and he improved again to 18.53 in 17th place on the 11th,and was 26th in 19.14 on the 18th.
Following his leading placing in Saturday's Surrey League(q.v.),Mark Reed was 5th of over 900 in the ASICS Kingston 8.2miles in 46.26(on the Sunday a.m.),before tearing back to work a night shift somewhere in the UK and then returning to Germany and his family! M50 David Greenfield,having failed to discover the whereabouts of the League start on Wimbledon Common,made up for that by taking 214th in the ASICS race in 64.03,whilst Peter Wilkins,out again as was Mark,ran into 229th(2h.08.16) and Rupert Bole(M50) placed 279th(2h.12.10) in the 16 miles event.
Nicky Atkins reports from the Surrey County Vets Champs that her W35/44 squad of 3 took 5th in the team race(52pts) - Nicky finished 26th in 28.12 on a bone dry Richmond Park 2lap circuit,with Susanne Dietrich home 32nd in 28.47 and Avelline Deighton(41st) in 30.05.58 completed. Some late track and field news - the traditional Cambridge University College Cuppers saw Humphrey Waddington & Bilen Ahmet(guesting) in action on Day 1(18th) - HW::200H 2 27.0/HT 3 19.35/TJ 1 14.05 and BA::PV 3.40(with narrow miss at 3.60)/DT 30.17/HJ 1.75/TJ 11.07/SP 9.74. Humphrey also won the Long at 6.61 on the Sunday(19th).

After her fine run in the Surrey League,18 year old Maddy Hardwick shone again in the friendly Bank of England InterClub in Richmond Park(25th)- on a hilly course,she lit out with the leaders,and gave most of the mainly-male field a run for their money. She finished 13th(32.38) of the 30+ field,and was 5th scorer for K&P with only Matt Hyett(4th 27.46),Michael Huntley(5th 28.14),Ant Budarkiewicz(8th 28.54)) & Peter Wilkins(12th 32.20) ahead of her.Back-up featured Graham Huntley(20th 34.34),Geoff Reed(27th 38.26),Dave Gibbons(28th 39.22) & David Barrington(30th slowly).The winner did 26.33 and Cashel Riordan ran untimed.K&P,in this 8-to-score match,were 2nd(115pts),yet again,to Thames(79),with Bank 3rd with 128.
K&P HCA Julian Hough(London Uni) claimed a PB of 73.23 in his home club-promoted Stroud Half-Marathon(26th),which gave him a more than useful 11th in the 200-strong field.
Earlier(19th),James Moroney finished 2nd in the Epsom Downs 5k Dash - issuing a warning to our 800 runners!!!!!!
Another missing track mark found - Intrepid Geoff Reed won the Civil Service M60 2000 Steeplechase at Battersea on Sep 10th(10.28.0).
Julian Hough was 15th(29.42)of 100 finishers in the 2nd London Colleges League race in Richmond Park(29th).
