The Ladies kept their noses in front at the 2nd match of the summer at picturesque Stompond Lane, whilst the Men,with an almost complete change of personnel from M1,hung onto the coattails of SMR in 2nd overall.
Full results on the Walton website(www.waltonac.co.uk) but the match scores were thus - Men:SMR 51/K&P 40/Walton 39/BA 26/E&E 8 and the Women:K&P 41/SMR 37/Walton 25/E&E 10.
Sasha's girls did not actually win an individual event but scored heavily with 7x2nd places from Clare McLeish(2),Harriet Lester(2),Natalie Sacre,Lana Whatley & Sasha hersen. We did win the 4 x 200 with Tasha Cook and Mlles McLeish,Whatley & Lester. Another 800 PB for Natalie was one of the better performances, whilst Lana edged her best 400 of her short summer and there were substantial season's hikes over 3000 for the recent mums,Debbie & Liz.
Only 4 of the M1 Mens' team surfaced at Walton - Jason Bernard, now looking a deal sharper, won both short sprints;M40 Andy Robinson ran away with the 1500(an unusual sight for starved K&P eyes!) and Peter Wilkins lowered his 3000 time for 2009,too.Elsewhere,Draco Mkpa,in his own backyard, looked very sharp;Tom Butcher, making another comeback, also rekindled his flame;Chris Hall won a decent 400;U17 Asher Nelson and Mike Clarke showed form in the Javelin, whilst our Vets continued to wave the flag despite having had their own league fixture on the Monday.
