All the better things occur here on the K&P website.
You read it here first.
The hugely successful Kestrel Club is coming back to Kingston & Poly, supported by Momentum Sports, starting in July 2009.
Having spawned a lot of the clubs current senior athletes,it is being rejuvenated to help the next generation of youngsters learn all about athletics in a fun and safe environment, with coaching from experienced qualified coaches in the full range of events. We'll be running, jumping and throwing with a view to improving skills, fitness and speed, whilst also having an enjoyable time. There will also be prizes and goodies available for all.
Through the K&P club, there is also access to a wide range of competitions for those who feel so inclined - a great way to see how you are progressing.
The "Kestrels" will train from 5.00pm to 6.15pm on Tuesday evenings, with training every week from the 7th July.
The cost will be £55 for club members or £65 for non-members for each 3 month period, although as an introductory offer if you sign up by the end of July you will receive a discount of £15 (making sessions as little as £3 each). If you would like to try us out before committing, trial sessions are available at a cost of £6 / session (each athlete can try these up to twice before deciding whether to join for 3 months). (All charges include the use of the track, all coaching and goodies).
The sessions are for athletes in Years 4 to 9 at school (although the older ones will be encouraged to join other groups within the club if they are experienced athletes). Cheques for payment to join the group are payable to "Momentum Sports Limited"
Surely there is no good reason not to come down and get involved with this great sport of ours.
We are one of the biggest and friendliest athletics clubs in London and compete across a huge array of leagues, events and championships and have athletes of literally all standards and ages and across all events.
Whether you are an 8 year old novice, a senior international or a “more mature” athlete looking to get back into the sport – we can help you achieve your goals.
We cater for runners, jumpers, throwers and multi-eventers on the track, in the field, on the roads or over the country and are based at Kingsmeadow in Kingston-upon-Thames (KT1 3PB). We'll be very happy to help you with your sport – so please just get in touch and we'll do all we can to assist.
