Here is Debbie's Report - the detailed race results can be found on Reigate's website - www.rpac.org.uk
The ladies were at Reigate Priory Park for their opening Surrey Ladies League cross country race. Having been quite cold the day before,it was surprising how warm it soon got.
The senior team, without any veteran runners this time, were running 3.8miles along the usual course in a field of 298 in both divisions,of which 139 were in division 2. Maddy Hardwick was our first runner home in 4th (25.22) followed by Gaby Miles(u17 in 28.13) in 17th. Jenny Rice 22nd (28.39), Debbie 28th (29.10) and Jess Maranzano 34th (29.43) completed the team while Liz Richardson 54th (31.31) and Johanna 73rd Gibbons(33.04) backed us up. The A team placed 2nd on the day with 105points to E&E 42points. Close behind are Walton (109pts) and Hercules Wimbledon (115pts).The B team were 23rd.
We had 3 in the u15 race Jenny Miles 22nd, Layla Thompson 23rd and sister Mae 27th of 32 - their first race in this age group at this distance. One more and we have a complete team.
Molly Renfer was our sole athlete in the u17 race finishing 6th of 18 as Gaby had chosen to run in the longer senior race.
There were no u13s.
A promising start to being promoted back to Division 1; well done, ladies! We welcome a return to racing from our more senior and more experienced athletes as well as Charlie Sklenar, who finished in Afghanistan on Saturday, at the next meeting at Denbies' Vineyard on 14th November.
Overall a good performance on a beautiful, if not too warm a day at Reigate Priory Park.
