Ebbisham League 2022 Season Report
Before I begin with the individual match reports, I’d like to say a big congratulations to all of our athletes who competed last year, as Kingston & Poly finished top of the table in Division 2 and have
been promoted to Division 1 for the upcoming season! This is the result of many excellent performances and a high athlete turnout at each competition, so very well done to everyone who
took part. I'm sure this success will carry over to the upcoming season!
Match 1 – Sunday 1st May - Kingsmeadow
The first Ebbisham League competition of the season was a very successful one for Kingston & Poly. The club came in first place overall in Division 2, with a total score of 135 points. Hercules
Wimbledon were second with 112, so we won by some margin!
We had a good turnout, with 19 K&P athletes competing.
Roan was our only U11 taking part on Sunday. He clocked a very good time of 13.2 seconds in the 75m, then ran an excellent time of 2.04 in the 600m. Roan finished the day by coming joint second of all the U11s taking part in the long jump, with a leap of 3.19m, so very well done to him!
For the U13s, Tim came third in the 100m A string race, with a great time of 14.6 seconds. In the B race, Lukas also clocked a very good time of 15 seconds, to finish second in his group. Both boys also
did very well in the long jump, with Tim leaping a huge 4.23m, and Lukas jumping a very respectable 3.38m, coming 1st in the B string competition.
Also in the field, Adriaan took first place in the shot put with a distance of 5.76m. He also did well in the javelin, coming second with a throw of 13.08m.
For the U15s, Sam B was brilliant in the 80m hurdles, winning the A race in 13.5 seconds.
We had some fantastic times in the 100m as well, with Angus coming first in the A race and Lawrence winning the B race, both in a identical time of 12.6 seconds.
Angus and Lawrence both also won the 200m A and B races, with great times of 25.1 and 25.9 seconds respectively. However, our best performance in the 200m actually came from a non-scorer,
with Dylan finishing in a superb time of 24.8 seconds in his first race for the club. Dylan was also excellent in the 300m, securing second place points with a time of 41.3 seconds.
In the 800m, Adam was third in a very close A string race, with a very good time of 2 minutes 25.6. In the B race, Thomas also did well, coming in second place in 2 minutes 50.2.

Match 2 – Sunday 19th June - Carshalton
In the second competition of the season, K&P finished in a very respectable second place, scoring a total of 134 points (only one point shy of our points total from Match 1).
Three U11 boys competed for the club today, two of them for the first time, which was great to see. Roan, Pascal, and Leo all performed brilliantly. In Pascal and Leo’s debut, they clocked very quick times in the 75m of 11.6 and 12.1 seconds respectively, so well done to them both.
For the U13s it was also Pascal’s older brother Avery’s first time competing for K&P. He did very well in the high jump, coming second with a height of 1.25m.
Also in the U13 age group, Albert was lightning fast in the 200m, winning his race in 28.2 seconds! Lukas was also very quick in his race, coming second with a time of 30.4 seconds.
Albert also ran very well in the 1500m, coming second in the A race. Daniel performed well in the B string race, also finishing in second place.
Moving on to the U15s, Sam B was amazing in the 80m hurdles, winning his race whilst clocking a
new PB of 12.7 seconds.
Angus was very quick in the 100m, winning the A race in 12.2 seconds. In the B race, Lawrence also finished in first place with a time of 12.3 seconds. Angus and Lawrence weren’t done there though, as both boys also won the 200m A and B races respectively. This is becoming a very good habit for these two boys!
In the 300m Dylan was superb, winning the A race in a very quick 38.6 seconds.
In the middle distance races, Otto came second in the 800m A race, with a time of 2 minutes 12.5. Adam and Luke then both came in second place in their 1500m races, with times of 4.53.4 and 4.59.1 respectively.
In the field events, Otto surprised everyone (including himself) by winning his first ever discus competition with a great throw of 18.36m. Sam J then scored top points in the high jump with a very
good height of 1.45m.
In the long jump Ruhiel was excellent, jumping 4.22m and placing third in a tough group A. Adam also did well, jumping 3.97m to come second in the B string competition.
In the last event of the day, the U15 boys came a very close second in the 4x100m relay, beaten by just a tenth of a second by Hercules Wimbledon.
Match 3 – Sunday 18th September – Woodcote School
After being postponed due to the extremely hot weather we experienced in the summer, the third and final match of the Ebbisham League season finally went ahead on the 18th September. We still had a large team for the day though,
with 20 athletes competing.
Three U11s took part again today. Pascal and Leo were very quick in the 75m sprint, finishing in times of 10.9 and 11.7 seconds respectively. Pascal also ran a fast time of 22.7 seconds in the 150m,
with Leo just a second behind him with a time of 23.7. Roan ran very well in the 600m, clocking a time of 2.05.4.
For the U13s, in his first ever 75m hurdles, Tim came first in the A string race, with a time of 14.9 seconds!
Euan ran very well in the 1500m, coming second in the A race in 5 minutes 18.5. Elliot also ran well, in his first Ebbisham League competition, clocking a very good time of 5.37.9.
But top performer of the day on the track for the U13s had to be Albert, who convincingly won the 100m, 200m, and 800m A races! So very well done to him.
In the U15s, Sam B was brilliant again in the 80m hurdles, coming first in the A race in a time of 13 seconds.
There was no Angus this time for the 100m, but Lawrence did a great job in the A race, coming second with a time of 12.3 seconds. Joe also ran very well in the 100m, winning the B string race in
13 seconds flat.
In the field, Tim was excellent for the U13s in the long jump, leaping 4.26m to come second. Daniel also did well, with his best jump measured at 3.91m, coming second in the B group.
In the U15s long jump, Luke measured an impressive distance of 4.50m to finish in second place in the A string competition. Sam J also came second in the B group with a very good jump of 4.19m.
Moving on to the vertical jumps, Avery did well in the U13 high jump, with a height of 1.15m. In the U15 high jump we had two top scorers, with Joe winning the A group with a great jump of 1.55m,
and Sam J also clearing 1.55m to top the B group.
We ended the day as always with the 4x100m relays. For the first time this season we had enough athletes to make up an U13 squad (including U11 athlete Pascal), who won the race with Daniel just
taking it on the finish line! Our U15 relay team also ran very well, coming second to a strong Hercules Wimbledon squad.
This brought us to the end of the competition and the end of a very successful Ebbisham League season for Kingston & Poly. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all the parents and officials for their help at every competition – without you, none of this could happen. I very much look forward to the upcoming season, which I'm sure will be another successful one for the club.
