Maurice Joyce 29.05.44 - 28.07.23

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maurice Joyce, who passed away peacefully in hospital yesterday afternoon.

So many of us associated with K&P, Kingston AC, Vets AC and even as far back as Surrey AC when Maurice joined in 1975, will remember him as a genuinely lovely man whose dedication to Track & Field, not only as a competing athlete himself, but as a Multi-event and Pole Vault Coach, was exemplary.

There will be many tributes to follow, and a Memorial gathering for our Club at some point, but there are a number of items to be arranged first before the Club can be informed further about next steps.

In the meantime, we can start Fundraising in Maurice’s memory, for whatever use is deemed appropriate when the time comes, to remember someone we all remember with affection and gratitude for all he contributed to our Club. RIP.

We cater for runners, jumpers, throwers and multi-eventers on the track, in the field, on the roads or over the country and are based at Kingsmeadow in Kingston-upon-Thames (KT1 3PB). We'll be very happy to help you with your sport – so please just get in touch and we'll do all we can to assist.
