Meet the NAL Team Manager!
Introducing your NAL Team Manager, 'Chef de mission' Richard White.
About Me:
I am the NAL Team Manager and an Athletics Official. When not trackside I still coach rowing and help run the Rosslyn Park National Schools Rugby Sevens. If you ever felt the need to grumble about draw- sorry that was me!
What is the NAL?
The National Athletics League (NAL) is the UK’s highest level of club competition for U20s and upwards featuring England, Scotland and Wales’ top 32 clubs. It is also open to outstanding U17 athletes that meet a tough entry standard.
What makes the Team so great?
The NAL pits our athletes against some of the best in the country. Last year we had a great trip to KJT’s home club in Liverpool. Pitched after BUCS the NAL is often a key draw for current students to come back and compete for us.
What's the goal for the season?
The realistic goal for the 2024 season will be to get out of the reach of relegation asap. Whilst this might sound defeatist - its achievement will only come with a wealth of PBs (SBs for some of the more senior athletes) for the group.
How does your team communicate?
The team has an active WhatsApp group which supporters and athletes alike are welcome to join.
Whats your favourite sauce?
I ought to say a homemade chimichurri to stress all that is good and fresh and healthy there with a good smattering of chilli. However my family would bust me and say it a red wine gravy where the chef gets to finish the rest of the bottle whilst tending it.
