A good start to the lower age group YDL at the weekend.
We always knew it was going to be tough because so many of our athletes were at the Mini Marathon, but all our athletes pulled together with great team spirit and managed a very creditable 4th place from 7 against strong opposition.
There were many PB, other great times (thwarted by strong winds) and some big distances in the field events.
Tom, Ella and Connor all opened their seasons with fast runs over 800m. PBs for Connor (1.52.43) and Tom (1.59.61). Ella's was her fastest opener ever.
Coach Max (and former member) also ran a PB.
New member Sophie Osborn ran a fast time of 56.73 for 400m at Loughborough, whislt Matt Atkins ran a very strong 16.06 for the Podium 5k at Dulwich.
Good luck to all the members (we believe we have about 15 in total) competing in the Mini-marathon or London Marathon this weekend.
It's always a great experience and will live in athletes memories for years.
Phoebe Law will spearhead the athletes in the main marathon, whilst many of those who have done so well over the cross-country season will be taking part in the races.
