Coaching

Our coaching provides an oportunity for athletes of all ages, from beginners to internationals and everybody inbetween. All our coaches and assistant coaches are UK Athletics / England Athletics licenced, and share our vision of low cost quality coaching for the broadest range of society.

As a volunteer-led community organisation we're committed to breaking down the barriers that prevent young people getting involved in athletics by providing high quality coaching at an affordable price. To deliver this we are working to a three stage pledge:

  • 1. Deliver the highest quality coaching - all coaches will be fully licenced and specialists in their field.
  • 2. Deliver the most appropriate curriculum to each athlete - athlete centred coaching, delivering each athlete what they need while providing a level of choice to both athletes and parents.
  • 3. Breaking down social or economic boundaries - as a volunteer led not for profit organisation our structure allows us to keep fees to an absolute minimum, and continue our commitment to reinvest any surplus back to the club.

Whilst this coaching scheme is open to KACPH athletes There is no requirement for members to be coached by our coaches. We are committed to our athletes and very much value those who are coached by third parties.
The majority of our event coaches are unpaid volunteers, athletes themselves and officials, as such will not be able to run sessions 52 weeks a year. Athletes will be advised in advance where sessions are not taking place.
Use the button below to register your interest for our coaching service, this is our prefered 'first contact' as it will ensure we have all the information needed to best advise you. Alternatively you can also contact the coaching team directly.

💰 Costs

If after the free taster sessions the athlete would like to join the club and continue training, there are two cost elements: Annual Subs and Club Coaching Fees.

1. Annual Subs

This covers the costs of the club (League fees, Athletics equipment purchase and maintenance, etc.). A fee to England Athletics (currently £20 per year) is also included in the subscription.

2. Club Coaching Fees

This covers track fees (the track is owned by Kingston Council and operated by a private company) and coaching costs, though most coaches are volunteers who do it for the love of the sport!

Annual Cost Breakdown (Including Coaching Fees)

Athlete Group Club Subs England Athletics Fee Club Coaching Fees (Monthly) Annual Total (Approx.)
Junior Athletes (up to School year 5) Free Not applicable £20 per Month £240
Standard Subs (School year 6 up to Master athletes) £60 £20 £20 per Month £320

Payment Information
