The people who make meetings happen

Volunteer & officials

We need officials to run our home meetings and to meet our commitments at away fixtures, which earn us points too! It's easy to qualify: the club pays for it and gives you free membership as a thank you.

Your help, big or small

Ways to help

Support your athlete

Encourage, listen and celebrate effort and progress. Your support builds confidence and a love for the sport.

Help at competitions

We always need help with setting up, field events, timekeeping, marshalling, refreshments and more. A few hours makes a big difference, and no experience is needed: full training is provided.

Become an official

Officials are vital to athletics. We'll support you to get qualified and develop new skills (see below).

Become a coach

Love the sport and want to help athletes improve? You can start by assisting our coaches at a session, with funded coaching courses to get you qualified. A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be undertaken by UKA, with the cost covered for coaches. This ensures our athletes of all ages are safeguarded, in line with our, England Athletics and UKA policies. Email the coaching team to find out more.

Training, safeguarding & the committee
